Manish Sisodia News Live Updates: Manish Sisodia sent to judicial custody till March 20 in liquor policy case

Manish Sisodia News Today, Delhi Live Updates:  The Rouse Avenue Court has sent former Delhi deputy chief minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia to judicial custody till March 20 in the excise policy case. Sisodia was produced before the court following the expiry of his CBI custody. On Saturday, the Delhi court had extended his CBI custody till March 6 as requested by the central agency.

Sisodia has been accused of corruption in the Delhi liquor policy that was scrapped after Lt Governor VK Saxena called for a CBI probe. The allegation was that the government bent rules and provided undue benefits to liquor vend owners. AAP has been alleging that the CBI is “mentally torturing and harassing” Sisodia to accept the “baseless” allegations made against him.

In other news, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today inaugurated the Ashram flyover extension that would bring huge relief for people commuting between Delhi and Noida. Speaking at the inauguration, he said: “Earlier, people used to face heavy traffic jams… But now, the travel will be smooth. Three major intersections will be decongested. We built 27 flyovers in our tenure, while only 84 were built in the last 65 years. 15 more big projects are in the pipeline.”
