Wrestler's Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Sunday said he is ready to undergo a narco test or polygraphy or a lie detector test, amid allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him. However, he laid a condition against undergoing the test, saying wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat will also have to undergo it.
Punia and Phogat are among the wrestlers who have been , for his alleged sexual harassment of women grapplers. They have been protesting at Jantar Mantar since April 23 demanding his arrest.
Taking to Facebook, Brij Bhushan wrote, "If both the wrestlers (Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat) are ready to get their test done, then I will call the press and announce. I promise them that I am also ready if they are."
Earlier on May 7, if even a single allegation against him was proved. "I still stand by my words and promise the countrymen to remain firm forever," he further wrote on Facebook.
"Except these wrestlers (who are protesting), ask anyone if I have done anything wrong. I have given 11 years of my life to wrestling, to this country," the WFI chief had said.
On April 28, the Delhi Police registered two FIRs against the WFI chief on the basis of sexual harassment complaints filed by the wrestlers.
This came even as security was beefed up at Jantar Mantar and on Delhi's borders ahead of a farmers' meeting in support of the protesting wrestlers on Sunday. The protesting wrestlers had set May 21 as the deadline for the khap mahapanchayat to decide on taking the agitation forward.
